Join Utility Global

At Utility, we’re reimagining what’s possible.

Our breakthrough H2Gen® technology transforms undesirable industrial by-products into clean energy and sustainable fuels and feedstocks, helping hard-to-abate industries decarbonize without compromise. We’re building systems and solutions that will power a zero-carbon future by turning what the world doesn’t want into clean energy it needs most.

But technology alone doesn’t change the world.

People do.

We’re building a team as bold as our mission. Engineers and scientists, designers and operators, storytellers and strategists all united by a shared belief: that the undesirable can become invaluable, and that industrial decarbonization can be both practical and economical.

At Utility, we see possibilities where others see limits. We believe progress happens when diverse minds collaborate toward a cleaner, smarter, more resilient world.

If you’re ready to do the most meaningful work of your career, join us and help build what’s next.

The Company

Utility Global is redefining how the world makes and uses energy. Through its breakthrough H₂Gen® technology, Utility transforms industrial off-gases and biogases into clean energy and sustainable fuels and feedstocks, helping industries decarbonize without compromise. The company’s proprietary technology delivers a scalable, economic pathway to a zero-carbon future, positioning Utility as a leader in the industrial decarbonization revolution.

The Role

Utility Global is expanding into numerous industrial sectors and looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to join our Applied Technology Team in Englewood, Colorado. As part of our organization, you will work with a highly motivated and driven team to leverage simulation as a tool to drive commercial electrochemical module design, help design experiments and interpret results, and to support cross-functional teams as required.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute high-fidelity CFD simulations (Ansys Fluent preferred) for thermal-fluid and reacting flow systems.

· Lead simulation strategy for complex engineering challenges, ensuring models are physics-based, robust, and decision-driving.

· Design, build, and support hands-on experimental setups to validate simulation predictions.

· Develop validation plans that define measurable metrics, instrumentation requirements, and acceptance criteria.

· Analyze experimental and pilot-scale data, reconciling discrepancies between modeled and observed behavior.

· Iterate models based on empirical results to improve predictive accuracy and reduce uncertainty.

· Support mechanical and process design through simulation-informed decision-making and CAD collaboration (SolidWorks preferred).

· Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and technician teams to troubleshoot systems and drive root-cause investigations.

Candidate Profile:

· Minimum of 5 years post graduate degree, preferably 10+ years of engineering experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline (advanced degree strongly preferred).

· Deep CFD expertise, including mesh strategy, solver setup, turbulence modeling, reacting flows, and multimode heat transfer.

· Demonstrated experience coupling simulations with real-world experimental testing and pilot-scale systems.

· Strong hands-on experience running experiments, supporting production trials, or operating pilot hardware.

· Proven track record of validating simulation results against experimental data and improving model fidelity.

· Experience designing test plans, instrumentation layouts, and experimental methodologies.

· Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) with practical understanding of manufacturable hardware design.

· High emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional applied R&D environment.
