Position Summary
The Electrical NCCER Instructor supports apprentice electricians in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to progress through apprenticeship levels, prepare for licensing exams, and succeed in the electrical trade. Students will primarily be involved in asynchronous learning, with the majority of the student time spent on self-paced eLearning. Estimated weekly instructor hours are between 5 and 10 hours per student cohort.
Duties & Responsibilities (with % time allocation)
1. Instruction & Training Delivery (40–55%)
- Assign on-line NCCER Module courses, monitor student success and contact learners who are falling behind.
- Deliver weekly reviews in live on-line sessions tied to student assessment areas that need improvement, schedule assignments, activities, and evaluations and monitor for comprehension and completion.
- Use NCCER developed lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials. Review student assessment scores to determine what topics need more attention and focus live training on the topics that need remediation.
2. Curriculum, Compliance & Assessment (30–35%)
- Assign on-line quizzes, exams, and reading assignments; provide timely feedback.
- Document and report student attendance, performance, competencies, and RTI hours to ProScore’s apprentice coordinators.
- Possible onsite student performance profile evaluation (hands on testing) at the construction site, requiring minor travel.
3. Student Support & Advising (10–15%)
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress.
- Provide academic support, tutoring, and remediation as needed.
4. Program Administration & Coordination (10–15%)
- Weekly attendance and progress report to ProScore apprenticeship coordinators.
- Attend NCCER instructor certification training.
- Support ProScore Training Program Director in program compliance and audits.
- Contribute to program improvement initiatives and stakeholder reporting.
5. Experience Requirements
- Three to four years journeyworker experience, credentials preferred (electrical license).
- Teaching experience preferred.
