Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Role Overview: iink is a dynamic and rapidly growing FinTech start-up known for its innovative approach. We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully scaling a venture-backed start-up from series A to exit, demonstrating exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and a keen understanding of business growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic vision and objectives.
  • Provide leadership in translating strategic goals into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across all business functions.
  • Monitor project timelines and schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work autonomously while ensuring CEO expectations are readily met and exceeded.
  • Represents the firm with clients, investors, and business partners.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness across all departments.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational processes and scalability.
  • Develop and monitor OKRs to track and improve overall company performance.
  • Look for methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance to develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
  • Implement cost-effective measures and resource allocation strategies to maximize profitability.

Scaling Strategy and M&A:

  • Utilize previous experience in successfully guiding venture backed start-ups from a series A through exit, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Lead negotiations and due diligence processes, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company and stakeholders.

Team Development:

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability among team members.
  • Lead and develop teams across multiple locations and over various functions.
  • Provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
  • Coach and develop the team to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Act as a strategic partner on the leadership team and work closely with the team to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
  • ​​Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.
  • Work cross-collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and ensure excellent client service.
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

Risk Management and Gap Assessment:

  • Identify potential risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
  • Work with the Director of Risk and Compliance to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, minimizing legal and operational risks.
  • Seek out gaps in business processes to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a successful COO in the start-up ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding and selling companies, GTM experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Project management experience is a plus.
