Director of Cargo Compliance
Summary
ClearJet is assembling a team of unique e-commerce logistics Leaders to plan, execute and oversee our Customers' commodities from their fulfillment center to warehouse sortation through domestic air cargo networks and into the final mile delivery solution. This team will be composed of individuals with high energy levels, Omnidirectional strategic thinking, and tactical execution, all delivered with unparalleled Customer Service soft skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for TSA, CBP and other regulatory compliance, processes, systems, controls, and protocols to ensure all operations remain fully compliant with all relevant regulatory, company, and industry requirements.
- Maintains compliance levels by regular audits, assessments, and training.
- Requires extensive knowledge of the airline domestic and international air cargo industry, as well as a solid working knowledge of sortation, WMS/TMS systems and FTL/LTL processes within the freight forwarding industry.
- Responsible for the design, review, communication, and implementation of Cargo SOPs, work instructions and KPIs in the Operations Department as they relate to Regulatory compliance protocols, new and current customer requirements, SMS, regulatory and industry standards.
- Facilitate and represent the Operations department in regular audits (Regulatory and Airlines).
- Responsible for the updating and maintenance of records as per regulatory and company compliance protocols.
- Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the Training of the Operations Teams, ensuring all training needs are met per requirements of ClearJet, customers and regulatory agencies.
- Serves as the TSA and CBP primary point of contact for all inquiries, inspections and audits.
- Support and provide direction to all department Leaders with regards to compliance and their daily operational responsibilities.
- Ensure and maintain TSA compliance, coordinate local station audits, and serve as a primary resource to specific locations and TSA, Airport, and Airline representatives.
- Serve as a resource to Regional and Station Managers (company or vendors) for compliance with all required TSA training, postings, and procedures.
- Ability to build strong inter-and-cross functional relationships to integrate and drive regulatory compliance, best Safety practices and performance reporting.

Requirements:
- Must pass the following:
- ClearJet employee background check
- Complete all required TSA and Cargo security training
- TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) background check
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain or equivalent work experience
- Extensive background in TSA, IATA, DOT, OSHA and Federal regulations
- Five years of airline cargo industry experience, including recent work in airline and cargo operations.
- Exceptional understanding of the airline industry, including all TSA/IAC domestic and international regulations and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of freight forwarding procedures, including cartage operations, booking/tracking, security requirements, and technology interface.
- Will work in a safety-sensitive position that includes a drug-free work environment
- Understanding and use of different operating/booking, Warehouse and Traffic Management Systems.
- Knowledge using the various Google WorkSpace applications that include:
- Gmail, Google Drive and Sheets as well as Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Can actively monitor Social Media channels to identify service failures and goodwill gesture opportunities and share essential industry news.
