Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Billing Manager to oversee and optimize our billing processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in transportation, logistics, parcel, trucking, and e-commerce industries, with a thorough understanding of the unique accounting and billing practices within these sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Billing Management:

- Oversee the entire billing cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

- Develop and implement efficient billing processes and systems tailored to the logistics industry.

- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary billing information and resolve discrepancies.

2. Industry-Specific Expertise:

- Apply in-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics billing practices to optimize ClearJet's processes.

- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics billing.

- Provide guidance on complex billing scenarios unique to the logistics and e-commerce sectors.

3. Customer Relations:

- Act as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries from high-value clients.

- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure billing aligns with contract terms and customer expectations.

- Resolve billing disputes professionally and efficiently.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

- Generate regular billing reports and analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting.

- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes with billing insights.

5. Technology and Process Improvement:

- Evaluate and recommend billing software and tools specific to the logistics industry.

- Lead initiatives to automate and streamline billing processes.

- Develop and maintain billing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

6. Team Leadership:

- Manage and mentor a team of billing specialists, fostering a culture of accuracy and customer service.

- Provide ongoing training to team members on industry-specific billing practices.

7. Compliance and Audits:

- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.

- Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to billing processes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

- 7+ years of experience in billing or accounting roles, with at least 5 years specifically in the transportation, logistics, parcel, trucking, or e-commerce industries.

- Deep understanding of logistics billing practices, including rate structures, surcharges, and industry-specific terminology.

- Proficiency in logistics and accounting software systems.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience managing teams and projects.

- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

- MBA or relevant professional certifications (CPA, CSCMP, etc.).

- Experience with API integrations and EDI in logistics billing systems.

- Familiarity with international shipping and associated billing complexities.
