Role Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the backend systems that power our platform. You'll be responsible for developing high-performance data pipelines, APIs, and integrations that connect fleets, platforms, and telematics providers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in distributed systems and data infrastructure, thrives in startup environments, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a product that sits at the center of logistics technology.

You'll collaborate closely with our Principal Engineers and product teams to deliver scalable, reliable software, while exercising strong ownership over your projects and contributing to long-term technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust, maintainable services and data pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS specific technologies.
• Implement and optimize RESTful APIs for high-throughput data exchange between systems.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and observability across cloud-based microservices and data workflows.
• Design efficient schemas and interfaces that enable consistent, high-quality data ingestion and transformation.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to integrate new telematics providers, data sources, and downstream systems.
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code; contribute to internal tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with Principal Engineers to translate architectural goals into actionable implementations, and contribute to technical design reviews.
• Drive projects from concept to production with limited oversight, balancing autonomy with proactive communication.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL workflows, or API-driven systems.
• Familiarity with the concepts in data orchestration frameworks and API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or similar).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Experience with streaming systems (EventBridge, Kafka, Redpanda, etc.) and asynchronous data processing.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, testing, and version control (Git).
• Comfortable working in startup or small-team environments, wearing multiple hats as needed.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
