BlueCargo is bringing the Freight-Tech revolution to first-mile container delivery—moving boxes from port to warehouse with data-driven precision. A YC-backed, female-founded startup (W18) with $4 M in seed funding, we’ve achieved product–market fit and serve hundreds of daily users. We’re now scaling and need a Senior Solutions Engineer to own complex customer integrations and unlock new revenue.
Your Mission
Lead enterprise onboarding: gather requirements, design architecture, and drive integrations from kickoff to go-live.
Transform messy logistics data (EDI feeds, APIs, CSVs) into clean Django models that power accrual and invoice-management workflows.
Build and productionize features that reconcile container events, fee schedules, and multi-currency invoices.
Act as the technical voice in pre-sales demos, RFPs, and customer workshops; create diagrams and effort estimates.
Debug live issues across AWS, Postgres, React, and third-party APIs—diving into logs, SQL, and EDI envelopes to unblock customers fast.
Document best practices and mentor engineers on EDI parsing, Django ORM performance, and finance workflow design.
What You’ll Bring
6+ years in software or solutions engineering; 3+ years with Django in production.
Proven delivery of EDI-driven systems (810/811, 856, 940/945, etc.) and strong ANSI X12 mapping skills.
Deep understanding of accrual accounting, three-way match, and month-end close processes.
Success building large-scale invoice ingestion, validation, and approval pipelines.
Fluency with REST/GraphQL APIs, Postgres, and containerized deployments on AWS (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS).
Excellent client-facing communication—able to translate technical detail for non-technical stakeholders.
Startup mindset: autonomous, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Nice to Have
Logistics or port-operations domain knowledge.
OCR/document-AI for invoice line-item extraction.
Experience with ERPs (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics) or TMS/WMS integrations.
